The NSPCC's purpose is to bring about an end to cruelty to children. With over 150 services, including ChildLine, the NSPCC Helpline, online advice service There4Me.com and direct work with abused children and those at risk of abuse, the NSPCC is taking action to put an end to cruelty child-by-child, day-by-day. The NSPCC is creating a society where everybody is doing all they can to prevent abuse from happening and helping children at risk. By working together cruelty to children will stop. To do this the NSPCC relies on almost 90 per cent of its income from donors and supporters across the country. Thank you for your support.

Last year 118 teams raised over £550,000 (the most raised from the event in the eight years it has run) to help protect vulnerable children and young people who desperately need support. Last year Microsoft won the corporate trophy raising an amazing £144,000. Hewlett Packard went home with the individual team fundraising trophy, having raised more than £58,000. So who will be this year's top fundraisers?

2009 will be the ninth year that Microsoft has sponsored the UK Challenge in aid of the NSPCC. Thanks to their ongoing commitment, and the efforts of all the organisations taking part, more than £3.2 million has been raised so far. This makes a huge difference to the lives of vulnerable children and young people across the UK.
